This Wayfaring Life

presents

Coaching Via Canyoneering

Few things tempt us like the comfort zone! It can feel so relaxing and stress-free. However, if we camp there we miss out on learning, growth and so many incredible opportunities. Over time we find ourselves stagnant and complacent. But we do not have to settle for this–we can choose differently.

It is time to break free from your comfort zone and come fully alive to the adventure of your calling!

This Wayfaring Life presents a rare and unique opportunity to:

  • Encounter the Presence of God in the beauty of His creation.

  • Challenge your self-imposed limits in a safe environment.

  • Confront fears that hold you back.

  • Experience the life-transforming power of community.

  • Deepen your ability to trust others and walk by faith.

  • Develop your leadership capacity and risk management skills.

  • Unlock new areas of freedom you may not even know exist.

  • AND learn some amazing outdoor skills that you cannot learn anywhere else.

What Is Canyoneering?

Canyoneering is the sport of navigating down steep mountain gorges through fast, flowing mountain streams–often rappelling over waterfalls, It provides an amazing balance between the quiet serenity of nature and the extreme thrill of rappelling over spectacular waterfalls. Experiences like this provide incredible spaces for life, leadership and spiritual formation coaching.

Coaching Via Canyoneering

This experience will provide an initial coaching session prior to our hands-on experience where we will meet up on Zoom to get acquainted and to set our intentions–spiritually, physically, professionally and emotionally. A digital devotional guide will be distributed at that time for participants to utilize as they prepare themselves for this adventure. The hands-on section will be completed in two parts. Day one is all about training.

Participants will gain a level of comfortability with their harness and with rappelling. They will also be trained in the art of building anchors specific to the canyon we will be navigating. It is a full day of leadership and risk management coaching. From our group we will pick a leadership team to join our Canyon Adventure leads to help run us through the canyon the next day. Day two is game on as we hike up to an entry point above the waterfalls and then complete our series of rappels down.

Participants will come away with skills that will help them both personally, professionally and spiritually.

Our adventure will most likely start at the Mt. Baldy Trailhead with a moderate hike to the beginning of a sequence of rappels along the San Antonio Falls watercourse and back to the trailhead.
